It has come to our attention that Croatian Airlines is intending to cancel their flight from Otok Krk to London. We feel that this decision is unwarranted and will negatively affect, not only the immigrants who use this flight, but will also do damage to tourism of the whole northwest Croatia, from Istria to Dalmacija. It should be noted that the flights to and from London are generally always filled to capacity, booking is required months in advance and is inconceivable that Croatian Airlines is loosing money on this route. The flights are used by immigrants from all of North America, business travelers and a sizeable tourist trade from United Kingdom. The loss of commerce to not only the airport of Rijeka, but to all of the surrounding areas will be greatly felt. At a time when Croatia is trying to enhance its view by the world, especially before it enters EU, we feel Croatia Airlines should reconsider their plan on eliminating this important route. We also suggest that to promote the tourist industry, Croatian Airlines should consider adding, and not eliminating, flights from London. If cutbacks are necessary for the company to maximize profits and eliminate losses, we suggest looking at the profitability of their other routes, such as Podgorica, Pristina, Sarajevo, Skoplje, etc... The lifeblood of Croatia is tourism, the immigrants add much needed currency, tourists from United Kingdom will continue to increase and business for all of northwest Croatia will flourish.

Došlo je do naše paznje da Croatia Airline planira prekinuti liniju Zagreb-Rijeka-London i obrnuto. Mi u dijaspori smatramo, da ukidanjem linije bi bilo štetno za turizam u cijeloj regiji od Istre, Kvarnera, Dalmacije i Otoke. Treba posebno spomenuti da ta gore naznačena linija, omogućava Hrvatima u Dijaspori i Engleskim turistima skraćeno putovanje na Jadranu, te je ta linija do Rijeke bila svaki tjedan prepuna i trebalo je rezervirati po 4 i 5 mjeseca u naprijed, te treba dodati let prema Rriječkom aerodromu a ne potpuno ukinuti.
U vrijeme kada Hrvatska ulazi u E.U. što se tiče pogleda u svijetu, i financijskih gubitka Croatia Airline i Hrvatske, sugeriramo da Croatija Airline razmotri i promjeni odluku ukidanja te linije.
Ako treba ukidanje linija zbog eliminiranja gubitka onda treba pogledati linije za Skoplje, Pristinu, Podgoricu, Sarajevo, itd. a ne liniju prema centru turizma.
